Horatio Nelson King (1830–1905) was a professional photographer based in Bath, active from at least the early 1860s. He produced portrait cartes-de-visite, including a series of portraits of the actress Marie Wilton, later Lady Bancroft, and photographed military officers and other prominent sitters. His work is represented in the Victoria and Albert Museum and other collections.
King’s interests extended beyond portraiture to architectural photography. His photographs of Westminster Abbey and London’s great houses were used in publications and lantern-slide lectures; in 1891 he published A Walk through Westminster Abbey to accompany his lantern slides. |
